We've been working closely with producer Omar Arango (and his exporter, Virmax Cafe) for almost 3 years. Gimme's Director of Coffee, Colleen Anunu, traveled to Colombia to meet him and kick off an an innovative trading partnership that has brought him Organic certification, price premiums, and two Good Food Awards. We met Omar when he was on the verge of giving up his quest for Organic certification because of the low yields his farm was producing; the production costs were too high for the small return he was seeing. We started paying him a high premium for the quality of his beautiful coffee, prefinancing his harvest to pay his pickers on time, supporting his transition to fixed farm costs and full Organic certification. This is the essence of true relationship coffee.

As always, the flavor of this lot is exceptional and reflects the care he takes with his coffee from seed to shipment. This particular lot is characterized by fruit and floral flavors, with a crisp citrus accents and a solid sugar base.
