Asnakech Thomas is the only female miller and exporter in the whole of Ethiopia. Owner of the Amaro Mill and 250 hectares of coffee farmland, Thomas might very well be the most inspiring figure in her community. By producing, milling and exporting the coffee herself, she can export her own coffee at will, thus keeping her high-quality coffee separate from lower quality lots. It also means she can claim the price that her special coffee deserves, 25% over Fair Trade price. This sun-dried coffee has a flavor profile reminiscent of raspberries and tamarind with a semi-sweet cocoa and honey finish, its acidity mellowed by a syrupy body. Delicious.

Fair Labor Practices The price for this coffee is at the high end of market, but Asnakech Thomas uses the money to create social programs including possibilities for assistance with capacity building and coffee job creation, schools, clean water and medical care.
Water Conservation This coffee is organic and is sun-dried natural. This, along with mechanical pulping machines, dramatically decreases water consumption and virtually eliminates pollution.
