Las Peñitas is a farm with a family tradition of award-winning coffees. Back in 2005, Natividad Benítez won first place in the Honduras Cup of Excellence competition. In 2008, he passed the farm to his son, Jorge. "I am 21 years old," says Jorge, "and since I was a little boy I have lived and grown growing coffee alongside my father." In 2010, he continued the family tradition by winning the Cup of Excellence Honduras. For the past three years, we have been trading with Jorge directly, traveling to Honduras to establish a relationship that we hope will last long into the future. This year's Las Peñitas microlot is exceptional, with the usual complexity and sweetness, along with unique tropical fruit and jasmine aromas.
