Grown in the lush super-volcanic soil around Lake Toba, our Sumatra Wahana is shade-grown, then fully washed and wet-hulled at the estate's mill. Deep and earthy, it starts with black pepper and spice and finishes with the perfect balance of sweet mesquite and mellow bitters.

Sustainability

Habitat Preservation Pruning is not practiced in Sumatra, which means that the trees are able to grow to their full potential of 8 to 12 ft. A lot of the shading of the fruit comes from the lush trees.
