GreenStar Gets Gimme!
Okay, okay. So GreenStar Cooperative Market here in Ithaca has been carrying Gimme for some time now, both ready-brewed in the deli and for take-home in the bulk section. But just recently they made the decision to carry our one pound retail bags as well! Fabulous news for those who prefer one-stop shopping trips.
To help spread the word, Sales Rep Lance Nichols did a demo during
Member Discount day July 10th, French-pressing four of the coffees
GreenStar is now carrying.
Keeping within GreenStar guidelines, they are focusing on our certified organic and fair trade coffees, currently Bolivia D'MontaƱa, Piccolo Mondo espresso blend, Brazil Santa Clara, and Deep Disco blend. As our offerings change throughout the year, so will GreenStar's inventory.
Customers got the chance to sample several coffees side-by-side and ask
Lance any questions they had about the coffees or the rumors that we're opening another store this year (it's true!).
Some just stopped by to get a little more of what they already knew they liked. Choosing which coffee to sample was easier for some than others.
Decisions, decisions. If you are interested in carrying Gimme in your restaurant, cafe or grocery store give us a shout here.

Just wondering if Lance was grinding the beans on the spot while pressing and, if so, what grinder was he using?

Thanks Zach. Yes, we practice what we preach- Lance toted our Mahlkonig K32 bulk grinder to GreenStar with him so he could grind as he went.

Oh darn. I was hoping to get the scoop on some fancy portable grinder. But good to know the GreenStar patrons were being treated to the best coffee experience possible. :)

Hey Zach,
For the scoop on fancy portable grinders, go here:

Zassenhaus has been making high-quality, manual burr grinders for over a century. These aren't the weed-whackers that most of the electronic blade grinders you commonly see are. And they're small enough to slip into your backpack next to the whisperlite and water purifier for forays into the world of camping decadence -- or making better coffee at home.

Thanks, Lance. That's exactly what I was looking for. I picked up this thing and it broke after, no joke, one use.

Keep up the good work, Gimme crew.
Thanks again.

Hey Anne-Marie, perhaps a little off-topic here, but I've got a Mahlkonig K32 that I'm about to take apart to clean, but I can't find a manual with schematics anywhere......any ideas?
thanks!
