A Study in Steel and Hair: Tomas Reyer in His Machine Shop
By Jeff Katris | Dec 9, 2008
Drive your Toyota like a jackrabbit. Gun it at the greenlight, catch air off a speedbump, carve donuts in your neighbor's lawn. Do it 15 hours a day, 365 days a year. How's that little Corolla feeling now?
Ask an espresso machine. It speaks from experience. The only difference is... When your ride breaks down, you throw a tantrum; but, when the espresso stops flowing, half of town goes into a slump.
That's when you need a real serious dude. One with legendary lambchops and a fanatical devotion to progressive talk radio.
Someone who clangs his way around the inside of a vintage E61 with all the delicacy of Baryshnikov on power tools.
It's the sort of man-dance that leaves you wondering: Does the man fix the machine, or the machine fix the man? That's a serious question. For a serious master.
See? See how serious?
What light through yonder window breaks...

Hey Tomas,
Just ran across your website and enjoyed the pix from Concordia. That was a great experience for all of us, and speaking for myself, very significantly improved my understanding/appreciation of Colombian coffees.
Hope you are well!
