If you are spending some time at Gimme studying, or just enjoying the ambiance of our newly renovated State St. store, I highly recommend giving our new Pour Over Coffee a try.

We make our Pour Over in a new device called a Clever Dripper.
Made in Taiwan, this wonderful little brewer differs from traditional Pour Over by having a stopper at the bottom of the filter cone. This way we can control the full immersion extraction time, similar to a Press Pot.
Expect a wait time similar to a drink from the espresso bar. Like an espresso based drink, a cup from the Clever Dripper is ground and brewed to order. Just for you!
This coffee is awesome!
The Clever Dripper is so, um, SMART that when you are ready to end the extraction and serve the coffee you simply place the cone onto a cup. This releases the stopper on the bottom of the cone and lets the coffee drain. Viola! The coffee is ready!
Our brew to order Pour Over coffee is currently available only at our State Street location, but stay tuned for company wide availability.
The coffees offered on the Clever Dripper will change monthly to highlight what's exciting and fresh. This is where you will get a chance to try our Cup of Excellence and small lot coffees. So, come on down and get 'em while ya can.
If we can share!

Is it plastic or glass?
devorah_freudiger Nov 12, 2009 – 9:38 AM
Plastic. Which is fortunate in regards to it being droppable, and it also doesn't suck away a lot of water temp - if covered you loose about 10degrees during the brew time, not ideal, but better than a single walled glass press pot (the most common model people are using).
It's unfortunate in that with a ceramic or glass cone dripper you are able to pre heat the cone quite a bit before you add the water for extraction. We also have to be careful not to scratch the plastic when cleaning; soft sponge is best. No scrubbing!
I'm sure someone out there is working on a ceramic or glass cone with some sort of stopper. It's really a great new idea; even extraction coupled with a paper filter, it's super easy to use and clean. But as with every great new idea, there is always room for improvement.

It may be a great idea, but it is not new. You can use the filter holder assembly of a technivorm brewer the same way. This thing seems great in that it is intended to balance well on a cup; the technivorm filter holder assembly, not so much 8-)

Why is everyone so out of focus... Is this decaf?
devorah_freudiger Dec 9, 2009 – 7:47 AM
Nope, not decaf! We still do decaf Americano style. We are serving the best of our best in the Clever Dripper. Menu changes monthly, so check in often.
