Inventory Spotlight: Vintage LaMarzocco GS2
By Kevin Cuddeback | Oct 24, 2008
Once again we've indulged our penchant for rejuvenating vintage equipment. We were lucky to find this demure, 30-year-old beauty in decent shape. Now, tuned and tested, it is ready for title transfer and an opportunity to shine.
Find me a barista on Coffeed who wouldn't pay $20 for an hour alone with this machine. Run away from the touch pads and LEDs and get your hands on the 3-position paddles. Preinfuse, extract under pressure, then off - all manually.
The unmistakable lines of the GS2. Was this their first double-boiler machine? (I oughtta consult my desk reference.)
A corner shot, the quarter view. Faux-leather side panels with polished stainless plates. Bakelite action over chrome-plated groups
Rare-medium-rare. Commanding stage presence. Low profile. Cocoa colored. Very good condition. Offered at $8000. (Act now and we'll throw in a steak knife).
