This past week in the upstate training lab we made macchiatos, more macchiatos and then we made more macchiatos!
all photos-Devorah Freudiger, gimme! coffee
We polished up our skills, working on milk temperature, milk texture and presentation.
With dedication that even Goldilocks would admire we tasted our way through the drinks. Rejecting offerings that were too hot or too cold,
or too foamy,
or too thin.
Until finally we all knew the formula that was just right. Next, it was our mission to push our latte art to the limits!
Soon, we were all serving up sweet delicious hearts,
clean simple tulips,
classic rosettas,
multi-tiered masterpieces,
It's tough work, but we were all in it together. It helps that no one minds coming in after their shift to pull and taste a shot... or five.
If you're a regular macchiato drinker, then you know that they are three sips of perfection. If you've never tried one, now is the time to stop on in for an afternoon treat!
