Meet Your Barista: Jacob Landrau, Cayuta New York's Finest.
By Alexis Zaharis | May 15, 2009
Jacob was first hired at our State Street location in Ithaca. Jacob has been working the bar there for a little over a year. Jacob is soon to be taking over duties as retail manager at Gimme's Ithaca Farmer's Market booth.
Jacob tries to eat locally grown food whenever possible. He and his lovely wife are currently prepping a good size plot for cultivating some of their own produce.
Working at both the Gimme! State Street and IFM locations Jacob's got a pretty good handle on things.
Jacob has also been known to work on the jumps for his BMX track at home after hours. He's got a pretty cool thing going on over at his place with gardening and cooking.
Jacob's drink of choice? A soy mocha if we're talking making them. If we're talking drinking them, well then he'd have an espresso please.
Here's an example of Jacob showing us what he does. (I suspect that mug to be courtesy of Devorah.)
Barista or bike mechanic? You decide. Jacob owns 6 bicycles. Jacob must stuff all of them in his office at home along with all of his music gear.
Jacob is a dedicated vegan and rocks the barista ways. We are excited to have Jacob working with us at State Street and look forward to seeing him at the Ithaca Farmer's Market. Thank you Jacob!!!!

This a great article about a fantastic person. I live in California, so I have not experienced Gimme's, however, I am biased, as Jacob is my son and I am very proud of him. Kudos to Jacob and Gimmes.

Way cool. If you haven't gone to Gimme yet, it's a must. If nothing else to hang with Jake and sample his creations.
