Most coffee I drink is brewed indoors - in the house, in the roastery, or in the cafés. Today, feeling the residual stifling pressure of the outgoing Ithaca winter, I decided to take it outside.
Clear and sunny skies with a high of 58 inspired me to want to go even one step further and fully escape terra firma. I called an old fishing buddy Dave M. and an hour later we were off.
I brought my long ignored whisper-lite stove and set it up in the bottom of the boat. (I think I've seen this photo in a maritime safety brochure.)
I brought a cheap digital scale and weighed my dose. The coffee was a blend of Cup of Excellence - Colombia samples that we tasted yesterday.
Dave baited up in hopes of catching something that would go nicely with the punchy acidity.
I put the grinder between my knees and after while was reeling as I cranked.
Dave cast toward the weeds, then cranked as he reeled.
The dose chamber runneth over.
Brought quickly to boil.
Booming bloom.
Going in for the fill.
Offshore cafe. Location, location, location.

Well, all I can say is that I grew up in the Lake district (Cumbria, UK) drinking lots of coffee and relaxing. These photos bring back the warmest of memories.
Well done...
