Kenya Feel It?

Update October 2007

Our Nyeri beans flew off the shelves, so we've found another first-rate Kenya coffee to tempt your tastebuds. It comes to us from the Wamuguma co-op, grown in the rich volcanic soil of the Thika district. It has the zing that you expect from a Kenya AA, and it's also...

  • Aromatic, with honeysuckle fragrance and a creamy body
  • Ideal for French press

If you liked the Nyeri, then you'll definitely wanna Wamuguma.

Caramel Fruitwood

Kenyan coffee is strictly graded by quality. Ours is AA, the cream of the crop, carefully washed and hand-sorted to select only the best beans. We pried our coffee experts away from their Kenya long enough for them to tell us what makes this year's harvest a winner. They say it's like fruit dipped in caramel, satin sweet with a light, lingering woodiness and rose-petal aftertaste. Seriously? Yes. We could go on, but maybe you should get to tasting it.

Homebrew Heaven

As a single-origin brew, our Kenya AA has a brightness that shines through the medium roast. It's zingy and complex, and well worth savoring at home. You can get 1-pound bags in our espresso bars or shipped right to you, fresh from the roast. For best home-brewing results, we recommend grinding it fresh and brewing in a French press. None of the challenge, all of the reward.

Plains of Mount Kenya

Kenya is famous for the high quality of its coffees, due in part to the volcanic soil found on the plains of Mount Kenya. The coffee is grown on a network of small farms and cooperatives. Once a week, farmers bring their beans to the auction in Nairobi, where coffees are sold to the highest bidder.

Kenya AA coffees — of superior quality and sold in tiny lots — bring top prices year after year. We're glad to be able to bring you one of them. About Kenya AA:
